The eyes are dry and irritated, the eyelids are red and uncomfortable or you wake up in the morning with encrusted eyelids: This could be an indicator of Meibomian Gland dysfunction.
The Meibomian Glands are located in the upper and lower eyelids. These glands produce the lipid layer of the tear film, secreting an oily substance directly onto the margins of the eyelids. Thus, every time you blink, the lipid layer is renewed, whose function is to counter premature evaporation and destabilization of the tear. If the function of the Meibomian glands is compromised or if their outlets are obstructed, there is a change in the lipid layer of the tear film. The result is evaporative dry eye, caused by premature tear evaporation in the presence of normal watery secretion.

1. Omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are part of tears. Dry eyes are often accompanied by a lack of omega-3 in the tear film. The greater the omega 3 deficiency, the more serious the tear changes and epithelial damage to the ocular surface.
EvoTears® OMEGA contains omega-3 fatty acids, sourced from algae.
2. Perfluorohexyloctane
EvoTears® OMEGA is lipophilic, thanks to the innovative substance perfluorohexyloctane, and has the same refractive index as tears. Thus, vision is not affected.
Perfluorohexyloctane has other advantageous properties that were not known to date in the treatment of Dry Eye.
EvoTears® OMEGA spreads very quickly and forms a protective layer over the tear to counter premature evaporation. Furthermore, one drop has a volume of only around 10 μl and consequently up to 280 drops can be dispensed per 3 ml of contents of a bottle of EvoTears® OMEGA.
3. Does not contain water
EvoTears® OMEGA is, in addition to EvoTears®, the second waterless tear in the treatment of Dry Eye.
