Loosens and lubricates feces, facilitating evacuation through an emollient action. Proctolax® is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of rectal or recto-sigmoid constipation; Encopresis; Constipation during pregnancy, constipation associated with childbirth and surgery (pre- and post-operative use); Preparation of the rectum and sigmoid for endoscopic examinations. Proctolax® evacuates the rectum and colon through a process of peptization of fecal matter. This mechanism essentially consists of a physical-chemical phenomenon in which water is released, even in the hardest feces, resulting in their liquefaction. This phenomenon at a molecular level causes the stool to soften, providing smooth defecation without affecting the mucosa and without causing any local or systemic reactions. The intended effect occurs within 5 to 20 minutes.
